A week has past so after a great trip last time out I thought it would be good to see if the carp are still feeding up at Riba Roja.
Differance this time is the weather, last week 20 degrees but cloudy this week 5 yes 5 degrees wet and a freezing cold wind.
I had company this week in the shape of Dave who quickly got off the mark with a mid double by the end of the first day we struggled up to 5 fish all doubles.
The night past with a couple more fish but compared to last week it was slow but the fish were showing so it was agreed another night was needed.
Friday started damp and drizzly but slowly we picked up the odd fish nothing big though maybe the weather had slowed them up.
As the night came we were up to 10 fish, rods set and a cracking stew to warm us up! both retreated me bivvie Dave motorhome (light weight!).
10 30pm Dave has a run, feels better he said and after a great under the rodtip fight the huge shoulders of a Ebro lump showed in our torch lights.
Beautiful fish which went 39lb s exactly atlast a lump for our efforts.
The night past with 1 lost for Dave poss another good fish and 3 for me 1 being a low 20. 7am Dave (I’ll bring him again!) is into another good fish.
Slow steady heavy fight could it be 2 in a row. Yes it can as I slide the net under another truly beautiful Ebro carp. On the scales this one had no trouble going past the 40 mark settling at 42lb.
We fished on until 1pm, I had as last week a quick run of fish with the biggest topping 23lb. Final totals were 16 carp for me 7 for Dave but he takes the glory with a fantastic brace of carp 39 and 42lbs.
