Return trip for the lads and with all the bad press about the state of the river they wern’t excactly sure what to expect.
With the river returning to normal the day they arrived we fished the 24hr stretch as the bank in the Town was still boggy, 3 runs 2 cut offs and a lost fish wasn’t the best of starts.
A couple of hrs after dark and they were all off the mark with Mike landing a great mid 20.
Next morning back to the 24 hr stretch with an over nighter looking forward to, as the previous day we saw cats rolling as we were packing up.
Oh! peps in OUR swim not good but plan B was a good one as Dave in another swim was soon to be leaving. Didn’t take long to setup camp and soon after 6 cat rods and 2 carp rods were on the spots.
10-15pm and Mike was in, good scrap ending in a new PB cat at 63lb good start. Half hour later and Sam was in on the carp rods, again great fight and no wonder asĀ an absolutly stunning common of 32lb was soon on the mat, also a new PB for Sam.
Fab start that just kept going, steady fishing all night with Steve landing a 26lb common. By mid morning the action slowed in the intense heat but time to catch up on some sleep. Mid afternoon and the action picked up again, we intended to fish until midnight which we did ending with a great tally which went 25 fish landed no monster cats but fish of 63 and 2 48’s with a few smaller ones and many great carp including 5 20’s capped by Sam’s New PB 32lb stunner.
A great trip with the river getting better each day !!!!!
