Tips on How to Keep Your Home Odour-Free
After a great day of fishing, you finally get home to prepare your catch for dinner. You could be looking forward to a very delicious meal but probably not the smell that fish leaves behind in your house, particularly your kitchen. But here are some simple home improvement steps that you can do to keep your house odour-free.
Start by placing scented candles in the middle of the dinner table. When lighted, they also function as ornaments for a candle-lit dinner. You can put some in other areas of your residence as well. Next, look for antique and fashionable vases or bowls and pour potpourri in them. These are a combination of dried petals and spices that are used to make a room fragrant.
Now for eliminating fish smells specifically in the kitchen, put herbs like thyme or rosemary in simmering water. This will provide a pleasing scent all around your cooking area. Furthermore, there are scents that stick to fabrics and upholstery sometimes. What you can do about these smells is to mix the equal amounts of water and vinegar thoroughly. Then using a spray bottle, put the solution inside, and lightly spray the solution on curtains and draperies. It is recommended that you use white vinegar for the mixture since it is known for its ability to neutralise odours.
Finally, if the weather is nice and clear, you can aerate your home by opening all your doors and windows. Let fresh air come in and it will help in getting rid of bad odours.
